1. Introduction

As 2025 ends, Writetech Hub reflects on a year of growth, creativity, and impact. This report highlights our journey over the year, our projects, achievements, and the ways we’ve supported our community of writers and tech enthusiasts. From creating accessible technical content to building learning opportunities and collaborations, Writetech Hub continues to bridge the gap between complex tech concepts and the people who use them.

2. About WriteTech Hub

WriteTech Hub is a technical writing agency dedicated to delivering high-quality documentation and content while also helping writers develop practical, industry-relevant skills. Beyond this, we have built a supportive community that empowers technical writers to grow, learn, and access opportunities in the tech and content space. Our mission is to provide organisations with clear, effective technical communication while equipping writers with the guidance and experience they need to succeed professionally. We address the challenge of limited access to structured training in technical writing by creating programs that combine real-world projects, mentorship, and community support.

What makes our approach special is not just that we write about technology, but that we make it accessible. Rather than leaving technical documentation to jargon and complexity, we put readers first: breaking down challenging ideas, organizing them well, and making them digestible. Through this approach, we help close the gap between tech creators and end‑users, bridging knowledge and accessibility.

3. Overview of the year

2025 was a year of clarity, consistency, and growth for WriteTech Hub. At the beginning of the year, we mapped out the key things we wanted to achieve both as an agency and as a community. Looking back now, we not only delivered on those goals, but we also expanded them.

Our initiatives included running the annual free Technical Writing Bootcamp, kicking off the Accelerator Programme, continuing our quarterly Doc Review Series, publishing blog posts, and organizing periodic webinars to keep our community engaged and learning.

In addition, we actively contributed to the open-source ecosystem. For Hacktoberfest, we partnered with Mautic to welcome both first-time and experienced contributors, providing our community members with practical experience and opportunities to enhance their portfolios. We also introduced the Guest Writers Program, which brought fresh perspectives to our content and expanded our network of skilled contributors.

Beyond our planned activities, we launched two new initiatives: the WTH Write-a-Thon, designed to encourage consistent writing and skill development, and the WTH Mentorship Pod, which paired writers with experienced mentors for personalized guidance.

Overall, 2025 was marked by the successful execution of our goals, the introduction of meaningful new initiatives, and the continued growth of both our agency and community.

4. Major achievements over the year

Over the course of 2025, WriteTech Hub reached several important milestones that strengthened both our agency and our community. From expanding our programs to launching new initiatives, this year was defined by meaningful accomplishments that demonstrate the growth, impact, and reach of our work. The following subsections highlight the achievements in two key areas: what we accomplished as an agency and the ways we engaged and supported our community.

4.1 Achievements as a writing agency

WriteTech Hub made significant strides as a technical writing agency in 2025, focusing on delivering high-quality content, expanding our services, and introducing initiatives to strengthen our offerings.

4.1.1 Blog and content publishing

We kept our blog active with clear, helpful technical content. The aim was to simplify complex ideas, and we maintained that standard throughout the year. This year alone, we published over 40 blog posts, racking up views and assisting our readers in addressing their pain points.

4.1.2. Client-facing documentation and writing work

We continued producing high-quality documentation, guides, and technical content for clients, keeping our focus on clarity, structure, and accuracy.

4.1.3 Guest writers program

Launched this year, the Guest Writers Program brought in fresh perspectives and diverse voices. It allowed external contributors to collaborate on content, enriching our offerings and expanding our network of skilled writers.

4.1.4 Collaboration with open-source projects

WriteTech Hub is supporting Mautic in migrating its developer documentation to a new platform. This work involves both moving existing content and updating it to reflect current features and workflows.

Because the migration and revision are happening at the same time, the process requires careful planning, review, and coordination. Our team is helping to organize the structure, improve clarity, remove outdated information, and ensure that contributors can easily find what they need.

This collaboration is still in progress. Upon completion, it will provide developers and contributors with documentation that is more organized, consistent, and easier to maintain.

4.2  Achievements as a community

Beyond agency operations, our community played a huge role in the energy and growth we experienced this year. This was the part of our work that kept our members learning, collaborating, and showing up.

4.2.1 WTH bootcamp 4.0 (Free Edition)

The WriteTech Hub Bootcamp is an intensive program designed to prepare aspiring technical writers for the professional world. It provides structured learning, expert mentorship, real-world projects, career readiness support, and opportunities to build meaningful connections within the tech writing community. The program addresses the gap between foundational writing skills and the practical knowledge required to succeed in the industry.

4.2.1.1 What was new in this edition

Bootcamp 4.0 featured more experienced mentors and additional hands-on projects. Participants who completed the program received a certificate of completion recognizing their efforts and achievements.

4.2.1.2 Participation and reach

This year, the bootcamp received 71 applications and accepted 53 participants. While most applicants were from Nigeria, we also had participants from other parts of Africa, North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, reflecting the growing international interest in our program.

4.2.1.3 Success stories

Participants shared inspiring experiences from Bootcamp 4.0, highlighting the program’s impact:

4.2.2 WTH Write-a-thon challenge

We started the Write-a-thon challenge to give technical writers a chance to work on real documentation projects. Many aspiring writers know the theory but rarely get to write for live products. This challenge lets participants contribute to real projects, build their portfolios, and practice their skills.

4.2.2.1 This first edition: Partnership with Chimoney

For the first edition, we partnered with Chimoney, a global payments company, to improve their API documentation. Participants joined the challenge through the WriteTech Hub community and received support from Chimoney engineers for technical questions and from WriteTech Hub for writing guidance.

The challenge lasted three weeks (July 16 – August 1, 2025). Out of 63 sign-ups, 12 participants actively joined. Each person worked on an API endpoint and created a use case article, a tutorial guide, and a setup guide.

4.2.2.2 Winners and recognition

At the end of the challenge, these three participants were recognized for having exceptional submissions:

  • Emmanuel O. Eboh
  • Mackenzie O’Brien
  • Queendoline Akpan

4.2.3 WTH accelerator program

The WriteTech accelerator programme is a three-month intensive bootcamp designed to help technical writers take their skills to the next level. It combines expert-led sessions, real-world documentation projects, and personalized portfolio reviews, providing hands-on experience in areas such as API documentation, DevOps, cloud, and AI-driven documentation. The program aims to prepare participants for professional roles with confidence and practical expertise.

The program is aimed at two groups: graduates of WriteTech’s foundational programs looking to advance their skills, and intermediate technical writers seeking specialization in areas like API documentation, DevOps, or AI documentation.

By the end of the program, participants had:

  • Completed real-world documentation projects using tools like Docusaurus and GitHub
  • Built industry-standard portfolios showcasing practical experience
  • Gained confidence through peer learning, mentorship, and mock interviews

4.2.3.1 Program structure

The Accelerator ran as a 10-week structured learning experience, combining conceptual lessons with practical application:

4.2.4 DocReview series

The WriteTech DocReview series is a community-driven initiative that helps improve documentation quality while giving technical writers the opportunity to refine their skills and build portfolios. By reviewing documentation, community members help ensure that technical content is understandable, accessible, and useful for end-users.

4.2.4.1 How the challenge worked

Participants selected technical documentation from a curated list or chose open-source projects of interest. They then submitted reviews using a standardized template. Each review underwent a two-step process: first, peer review by experienced community members, and second, internal review by WriteTech Hub technical writers to ensure accuracy and quality. Approved reviews were then published publicly, recognizing contributors and providing resources for the broader community.

4.2.4.2 Skills participants gained

Through this initiative, participants enhanced their technical writing and reviewing abilities, developed a deeper understanding of documentation standards, and practiced giving constructive feedback. They also gained experience working collaboratively in a community-driven environment, building both confidence and competence in technical communication.

4.2.5 Hacktoberfest & open-source participation

This year, WriteTech Hub actively encouraged community members to contribute to open-source repositories and participate in Hacktoberfest.

We partnered with Mautic, an open-source marketing automation platform, to allow our community to contribute directly to their documentation projects. In addition to hands-on contribution, we held webinars in collaboration with Mautic, providing guidance on open-source workflows, Docs-as-Code practices, and best practices for submitting contributions. These sessions helped participants understand and improve their technical writing and open source contribution skills, and engage confidently with live projects.

4.2.6 Mentorship pod

The Mentorship Pod is a small, focused learning group consisting of 4–6 members, led by expert facilitators. The pod provides participants with personalized guidance and support to help them grow as professional technical writers.

Members of the pod receive mentorship in key areas, including:

  • API documentation writing – learning best practices for creating clear, structured, and developer-friendly content
  • Portfolio building – guidance on creating projects that demonstrate skills to potential employers
  • Open-source contributions – support in contributing to live projects and improving documentation in public repositories

4.2.7 Periodic webinars

Throughout the year, we hosted a number of webinars on technical writing, tools, and documentation best practices, keeping the community active and informed.

5. Community impact

This year, our community members have grown in skills, confidence, and career opportunities. Participants from our free bootcamp, accelerator programme, write-a-thon, mentorship pods, and open-source contributions helped the WriteTech Hub community grow in many ways. Members improved their technical skills, gained confidence, and built portfolios by applying what they learned in real projects.

Working with partners like Chimoney and Mautic gave members chances to contribute to live projects and join webinars. These partnerships allowed participants to practice their skills, receive guidance, and make meaningful contributions to real documentation projects.

By combining hands-on projects, guidance, and community support, WriteTech Hub has created an environment where members grow their skills, feel confident in their abilities, and can take on real-world technical writing challenges. The community has become stronger, more capable, and more connected because of these efforts.

6. Goals for the coming year

Next year, we plan to build on the programs that worked well in 2025. This includes our annual free bootcamp, the second edition of the accelerator programme, write-a-thon, docreview series, and mentorship pods. We want to continue providing structured learning, real-world projects, and mentorship opportunities for community members.

We’re also planning new initiatives and improvements to existing programs. These may include expanded mentorship offerings, advanced workshops on API and open-source documentation, and initiatives that give members even more opportunities to work on live projects and showcase their skills.

Community members will continue to have many ways to participate, from contributing to open-source projects and taking part in writing challenges to mentoring peers and attending webinars. We want every member to have a chance to grow, share knowledge, and make meaningful contributions to technical writing projects.

7. Conclusion

2025 has been a year of growth, learning, and achievement for WriteTech Hub. From successfully running our initiatives, we have strengthened both our agency and community. Every program, partnership, and contribution has brought us closer to our goal of making technical writing accessible, practical, and impactful.

We are deeply grateful to our community members for their dedication and enthusiasm, to our partners like Chimoney, Elegance Media Agency, Puplar, TalentPoel, and Mautic for collaborating with us on meaningful projects, and to our team for their hard work in planning, coordinating, and delivering each initiative.
