Participants are intermediates/newbies, technical writers, engineers, software developers, project managers, trainers, business professionals, researchers, open source developers, project managers, and anyone seeking to improve writing and communication skills and begin a career in technical writing.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria
To participate in the WriteTech Bootcamp:
- Participants should have a strong command of the English language, excellent writing skills, and an interest in technical writing.
- Participants should have basic computer skills and be comfortable using word processing software, collaboration tools, and other relevant software.
- Participants must be prepared to commit to at least 4 hours a week to participate in the bootcamp.
- Participants should have access to a computer and internet connection.

Roles of Participant During the Bootcamp
The responsibilities of participants in the bootcamp are as follows:
- Attend training sessions and workshops
- Keep your facilitator informed of the work you have completed, your plans for the next steps, and any obstacles you may encounter.
- Seek assistance if something is impeding your progress toward a goal.
- Indicate your daily work progress or work at agreed intervals.
- Reassess the scope of your work if you are significantly ahead of or behind schedule.
- Communicate with your facilitators, POCs, and the larger community.
- Notify as soon as possible if your capacity to work is reduced due to family obligations, health, or other work-related responsibilities.
- Be open to feedback and respond appropriately.
- Submit your project report and evaluation within the specified time frame.
- Report any bugs or communication issues to the program administrators.
Project Report
During the final week of the Bootcamp, participants must submit their project report by completing a designated form. The project report should include a link to a description of the work completed during the Bootcamp, such as a blog post. This description should contain the following:
- A summary of the work accomplished during the Bootcamp, including any relevant links to pull requests, documentation, and other resources used.
- A discussion of any challenges faced during the project, including how they were overcome (if applicable).
- A reflection on the experience gained during the Bootcamp and how it has contributed to personal and professional growth.
- Suggestions for improvement that may help future participants in the Bootcamp.
- A plan for the next steps, including how the work completed during the Bootcamp will be continued or expanded upon in the future.
By providing a detailed project report, participants can showcase their accomplishments, reflect on their experiences, and provide valuable feedback for future iterations of the Bootcamp.
