Numbered Lists

Numbered lists are useful when the order of items is important, such as in step-by-step instructions or processes. They help readers follow a specific sequence of actions.

Use of Numbered Lists:

  • Use numbered lists for sequential tasks: When steps must be followed in a specific order, use a numbered list to indicate this clearly.
Example: “To install the software, follow these steps:”
  1. Download the installer from the official website.
  2. Run the installer as an administrator.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
  • Keep steps clear and concise: Each step should be a simple, direct instruction. Avoid combining multiple actions into a single step.
